C.J. Wilson Is Funny

CJ Wilson: "because 7 8 9 lolololol!" Mike Napoli: "No"

If I were to somehow acquire Ranger catcher Mike Napoli’s phone number and tweet it, nobody would care because I have 49 followers that probably don’t even read my tweets because they realize I recycle jokes and just tweet about my daily poops (@tharealgdub for those interested in such entertainment). Alas, that didn’t happen. In reality, former Ranger now Angel pitcher C.J. Wilson was the one that tweeted out his former batterymate’s phone number to his 117,000 followers. Then Marlins outfielder Logon Morrison retweeted Wilson’s tweet, with this:

While it this was meant to poke fun at Wilson’s tweet, it in turn sent the tweet back out to Morrison’s near 100,000 followers. Therefore, Napoli’s phone number reached a total of 200,000 people, and that’s not including the other retweets of the tweet that were spread throughout the twitter universe.

Wilson, being the goofy guy that he’s proven to be, characterized the tweet as a prank on Napoli because Napoli said he was going to take him deep this season. Sorry, C.J., this is a prank:

Needless to say Napoli was not amused, saying this according to the Fort- Worth Star Telegram:

"I don't even know why he did it," Napoli said. "You don't do that. I am not taking it as a prank.”
"You know, I haven't even talked to him since the end of last season. We don't have that type of relationship."
This is awkward. I for one, think it’s hilarious when someone has to shut down his phone, buy a new phone, reset his contacts, and get a new phone number that he has to tell everyone. Classic! Wilson has not issued an apology yet, despite the consensus opinion that this joke makes Jay Leno seem like Jimmy Kimmel.
This also gives us a great opportunity to reiterate that age old lesson: it’s all fun and games until someone tweets out your phone number.
